The secret Lovecraft society was a club of honest seekers like JJ, CQ, Godot, KVS and me SKA, who were exploring the possible link between advaita vedanta and the Cthulhu mystery as described by HPL in his novels, with the idea in mind there is no real difference between good and evil.
